PROGRAM NOTES from the composer:
Who doesn't remember the first time they saw Leonard Bernstein conduct?   Or perhaps you got to know his name through his iconic musical "West Side Story".  In any case, there are few who don't become fans of his, as I did in my youth.  What first started as an enthusiasm for his music as a child became an obsession as adult.   I read every book, watched every film, bought every CD and read through every score I could get my hands on.  Now as an established composer of my own, and in his centennial year, I decided to honor Lenny's legacy in a way that he honored others in his own life, by writing a piano "Anniversary".
