Beethoven in Love (2017)

Music by Sunny Knable

Libretto by Maxine Fisher

Beethoven in Love is a historically-based chamber opera which explores the famous "Immortal Beloved" story.  After much debate, historians now mostly agree that Antonie Brentano was the intended recipient of the letter penned by Beethoven.  The witty libretto by Maxine Fisher tells the story of Beethoven meeting and falling in love with his muse, which is set to music by Sunny Knable's reimagining of the works which Beethoven was writing at the time, from the Egmont Overture to his Symphony No. 9.

It has been workshopped at the National Opera Center, where it will have its full premiere in Spring of 2017.  More information to follow soon!
